the storyteller

sarah masare is the author

of the story and muse volumes

as a child she wanted to become

everything from an astronaut to a wizard

alphabetically and speculatively

the list of professions that sarah wanted to pursue

excluded writing professionally

although she wrote reams

full of imaginary realms

for her imaginary readership

as she grew wiser

sarah realized that she could become

everything from an astronaut to a wizard

if she became a Writer

because you know…

*imagination* and all…

but for ~reasons~

the concept of real readers reading

the sur-real-ish writing she wrote

seemed horrifying and potentially mortifying

so…

for a horrifying and definitely mortifying

amount of time

sarah attempted to become

everything from an astronaut to a wizard

it wasn’t until she studied

her first semester of law school

notes and noticed

more notes on novel structure

than notes on civil procedure

that she realized the writing thing

was happening

by itself

in spite of herself

and then she chose to get out of the way of herself

today sarah spends much of her time in the bay area

with her un-annoyingly-perfect family

and non-irritatingly-perfect friends

when she is not reveling in the company

of her favorite nonfiction humans

she writes

she writes a lot now

and now

she loves that real readers read

the sur-real-ish writing she writes

much of the inspiration for the tales told

in the story and muse volumes

comes from sarah’s continued attempts to become

everything from an astronaut to a wizard…
